We gave you round one of our shopping local for the holiday roundup, and now we have round 2 for you! We can’t believe we are getting so close to Thanksgiving and Christmas. It’s time to start that holiday shopping!
Downtown
Of course, we can’t write a post about Christmas shopping without including Downtown Portland! Downtown, also Southwest, is the heart of Portland. With its shops, restaurants, holiday decor, and hustle and bustle of people, it truly feels like Christmas. Don’t miss out on seeing the big tree in Pioneer Courthouse Square across from Nordstrom! While the heart of Downtown isn’t abundant with the small and local shops, it is a short walk from the Pearl District and NW. Shop downtown to get the true Portland Christmas experience. Pioneer Square mall in downtown also has seasonal local pop-ups during the holidays!
Mississippi
North Mississippi Avenue is a long street of stores and restaurants. The great part about Mississippi is almost all the stores are on one street, with a few just a block or two away from the main strip, so for when the weather is cold and a lot of walking isn’t on your agenda, Missippi is a great choice. Mississippi Avenue, part of North Portland, has a whole different vibe than some of our other featured areas, with a lot of renovation to some shops and restaurants. We love Flutter, PDXCHANGE, Gumbo Gifts, Pistils Nursery, and MadeHere PDX. We recommend stopping at Townshend’s Teahouse for a warm cup of tea, or Ruby Jewel Ice Cream for a sweet scoop!
Multnomah Village
A quaint and charming little neighborhood in southwest Portland off of Capitol Highway, Multnomah Village is a fun place to shop and search for trinkets! Only about 5-10 minutes from Downtown, the district still has many of its original buildings from over 100 years ago! It is easily walkable with an abundance of cute shops, perfect for holiday shopping. We would definitely suggest starting with brunch at Marco’s Cafe, then walking through the local shops. We love Aesthete Tea, Annie Bloom Books, Peachtree Gifts, and Thinker’s Toys.
Now that we have given you this guide to holiday shopping in Portland, and where to shop local, it’s time to get to it! Happy shopping and happy holidays!
