Barry’s Bootcamp first opened its doors in Los Angeles in 1998. Instructor Barry Jay innovated HIIT interval training in a group setting with one part strength one part cardio, now recognized as boutique fitness. The first NYC studio opened in 2011 with the Fuel Bar and signature Woodway treadmills, and shortly after, Barry’s went global!
At Barry’s you will burn up to 1,000 calories during their high intensity interval training workouts. They have top instructors ready to help push you, carefully curated playlists, and alternating muscle focus to ensure your body gets a balanced workout and proper recovery time. Their original HIIT workout is 50% treadmill and 50% strength training. If running isn’t your thing you can try an original double floor, which is strength training only.
Every Barry’s studio is unique to the city in which it is located. Every studio has separate men’s and women’s changing areas, a fuel bar with delicious protein-packed shakes and snacks, grooming products like shampoo and conditioner, complimentary towels, a shop for workout clothes, restrooms, lockers, dirty clothes bags, hairdryers and elastics, wi-fi, and wheelchair access!

The first time may seem overwhelming with the loud music and lowlights, but Barry’s community is full of people that love supporting first-timers!
While the workout is tough, it is a great community builder and a new way to get in shape. The Portland location doesn’t have an exact open date yet, but it will be located at 1210 NW 10th Avenue across from Tanner Springs Park in the Pearl District.
