The Tea Bar In Portland

Tea Bar is an aesthetically pleasing tea shop in the Portland area that has gained popularity and locations throughout the past few years! It is one of our favorites, so we thought we’d finally write a blog post about this gem!

Erica founded Tea Bar at the young age of 23 after moving back to Portland after living in China for 2 years. She was raised in North Portland, and spent time living abroad from a young age. Erica watched and helped her dad grow the family real estate business and from doing so learned design, construction, and customer service. She moved to China when she was just 16 to get herself immersed in the culture and learn Mandarin.

Tea has always been her favorite beverage and she noticed Portland had a plethora of coffee shop options, but barely any tea shops. She began to create a new experience, a welcoming and modern space. Her goal has been the same since the creation, she wanted to make high quality tea approachable.

Tea Bar believes less is more, and each drink is made fresh to order. Their drinks never use powders, artificial flavors, or dyes. Their boba is made each day using grade A tapioca pearls, and their teas are sourced from farms throughout the world. They always make sure the farms they partner with are certified organic and fair trade.

When you drink something at Tea Bar you can tell it is made using the highest quality ingredients, and they always try to source locally. Tea Bar accommodates many different diets and has a variety of dairy-free options for their drinks including almond milk, coconut milk, and Oatly. You can adjust many of their drinks to your liking, whether that be removing sweetener or taking out the tapioca pearls. Tea Bar makes an effort to be sustainable, as the drinks are served in reusable mason jars.

Tea Bar has a menu of delicious tea based lattes including Thai Iced Tea, Matcha, Mint Majik, Cocoa Cinnamon, and so many more. They update their menu with new items often and also serve soft-serve that rotates regularly with unique flavors, like the current vegan London Fog. Tea Bar also serves tea themed pastries such as the matcha croissant!

Tea Bar is so beautiful inside, it’s hard not to sit and stay a while. It is inviting and bright, a great place to meet friends or get work done. They started with just one location on SE Division, and they now have locations on SW Yamhill, NW Northrup, and NE Killingsworth! They have been featured in bon appétit, BuzzFeed, Vogue, Cosmopolitan, and so many more well-known news outlets.

If you need a pick-me-up, want to try tea in a new and exciting way, or just enjoy the beauty that is Tea Bar, give them a visit today!
